What Did You Think of the 2018 Fitness Challenges?

Before we head off into the land of hope and awesomeness that is 2019, we have a few hours left to take stock of how far we’ve come in the past year. I’m preparing next year’s fitness challenges and want to hear what you thought of the ones we just did. What did you love? What motivated you to keep going?

As a reminder, here’s what we did:

  • January: pull-ups
  • February: pushups
  • March: stretching

  • April: planks
  • May: fitness trails
  • June: burpees
  • July: squats
  • August: handstands
  • September: running
  • October: deadlifts
  • November: bench press
  • December: yoga

I already know some of you fell in love with a particular challenge and kept doing it for months after the rest of us moved on. I kept working out on fitness trails all summer, and I used the running challenge to kick-start a running routine that I’ve stuck with—in fact, I’m training now for a half marathon this spring.

So I’d love to hear what you thought of these challenges, and what you’re hoping to do in 2019:

  • Which challenges were your favorites? Which ones did you really commit to, and was it because you already liked that exercise or because of something about the challenge itself?
  • What did we miss? Are there other exercises or aspects of health or fitness that should have been on our challenge list? What have you always wanted to try?
  • What challenges would help you with your personal goals? Go ahead and be selfish here. If you could get the whole Lifehacker community doing your favorite workout, what would it be?

Chime in below with any thoughts you have, and be sure to tell us all about how you rocked any or all of the challenges!
