If you’ve purchased Ragú pasta sauce this month, you should check the packaging to make sure it hasn’t been recalled.

Mizkan American, the company that makes the sauce, recalled three different flavors this week over concerns that they might contain plastic fragments. Finding plastic in your pasta could certainly derail a spaghetti night.

The sauces in question were produced between June 4 and June 8, 2019 and include the company’s Chucky Tomato Garlic & Onion, Old World Style Traditional, and Old World Style Meat.

If you have a 45 or 50-ounce jar of one of those flavors, check the “best if used by” date on the top of the cap to see if it was included in the recall. The dates vary by the flavor, but all are between June 4-6 of next year. Here’s a breakdown by flavor:

• Ragú Chunky Tomato Garlic & Onion, 45 ounces

Cap Code: JUN0620YU2

Best Use By Date: JUN0620YU2

• Ragú Chunky Tomato Garlic & Onion, 66 ounces

If you have one of the impacted jars you can return it to your original point of purchase for a refund. You can also contact the company for a refund by calling its consumer hotline, 800-328-7248, between 7: 30am and 5pm CST Monday- Friday. The hotline can issue you a coupon for a replacement jar of sauce.
