Get Cheaper Hotel Prices After You Book Using This Site

Chances are good that the cost of your hotel room is going to drop after you book it. Hotels will often lower prices when bookings aren’t quite what they hoped for a day, or when it becomes obvious they’re going to have a ton of available space.

You might know that already. However, what you may not realize is that you can often take advantage of that new lower price as well.

This week CNET recommended a service I hadn’t heard of before: Pruvo.

With it, you book your hotel room just like you always have and then forward your confirmation letter to [email protected]

When you do, the service will start tracking prices for that reservation. If it discovers the price has dropped, you’ll get an email letting you know.

This whole thing only works if your original reservation has a free cancellation option.

The idea here is that when you receive an email from Pruvo letting you know that the room is cheaper, you’ll cancel your original reservation and rebook it at the new lower price.

For some reservations, you might not see any price changes, or the price might even go up over time. However, for those times when the price does drop, it can be a nice free heads-up that can potentially save you a decent amount of cash.
