A Father Booked 6 Flights to Be With His Daughter on Christmas

When Hal Vaughan, from Ohio, learned that his flight attendant daughter, Pierce, was going to work on Christmas, he decided to join her on every flight so they could spend the holiday together. The world would never have known this heartwarming story if a passenger seated next to Hal on one of the flights wouldn’t have shared it on his Facebook account.

Here at Bright Side we were touched by this warm Christmas story, and we can’t wait to share it with you!

Christmas is a holiday that’s usually spent at home, but this was not the case with Hal Vaughan, who bought multiple plane tickets and eventually spent the holiday in the sky, together with his daughter. Mike Levy, who was traveling from Fort Myers to Detroit on the same plane with Hal didn’t miss this opportunity to share Mr. Vaughan’s Christmas adventure. His Facebook post instantly went viral and turned this touching story into a symbol of how a parent’s love has no boundaries.

It turned out that Hal booked 6 flights on Christmas Eve and patiently followed his daughter from one airport to the other, while she was doing her job. While navigating all the flights was a rather challenging experience, Hal’s dream came true and he was able to join Pierce on Christmas.

Later on, Pierce also shared Mike’s post on her Facebook account saying that spending Christmas with her father in such an extraordinary way was an enjoyable experience. “Dad’s first trip using his benefits was a success! A special thanks to all of the patient, wonderful gate agents around the country and my perfect crew. Shoutout to Mike Levy for being a great first class passenger & helping us to understand how cool this actually is!”

Delta Airlines, the company where Pierce Vaughan works, said in their statement, “We appreciate all of our employees for working during the holidays to serve Delta customers and love seeing this awesome Dad having the chance to spend Christmas with his daughter — even while crisscrossing the country at 30,000 feet.”

What do you think of this story? Do you know anyone who’s walked an extra mile to spend Christmas with their nearest and dearest? Feel free to share your stories in the comments!
